Guitar and Choir

Where were you born?

What age were you when you started learning music?

I started singing quite young, maybe 9 or 10. I picked up guitar when I was 13.

Where did you go to university and what did you study?

I did a Diploma of Music at Capilano College in north Vancouver, then a bachelor's degree in secondary music education followed by a master's degree in classical guitar performance at the University of Bristish Columbia in Vancouver.

What is one of the most memorable highlights of your musical life?

Probably when I played at the 25th True North concert in Yellowknife, North West Territories for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).

What is your favourite style/genre of music?

Always changing but I'd say my most enduring love has been for the solo guitar music of Spain and Latin America.

Who is you music idol? Or who would you do a duet with?

It changes all the time, but I'm currently obsessed with a jazz guitarist called Julian Lage.

What hobbies do you have? How do you spend your recreational time?

I skateboard quite a bit with my border collie "Tinx" and I like taking my kids to the beach.

Three words your friends would use to describe you?

This is awkward.

Do you have a life motto and what is it?

Everything is easy once you can do it.
